Health Benefits of Powdered Peanut Butter

When we consider the health benefits of powdered peanut butter, we must first understand what it is!

Peanut butter powder is made by removing most of the fat from peanuts and making a powder that can then be mixed with water to provide peanut butter.

Normal peanut butter comprises peanut (or other cheaper) oil mixed with ground peanuts.

Peanut butter is an excellent source of protein and fats. This is a problem if we are only looking for the protein. Enter Powdered Peanut Butter as a low-fat high protein solution.

Health Benefits of Powdered Peanut Butter

Let's have a logical look at why powdered peanut butter can help you achieve a healthier life.

  1. Normal peanut butter contains 27.8% protein and 49.4% fats – peanut butter powder contains 40% protein and only about 7% healthy lipids!! Upgrade your snacks! Ditch the unhealthy fats of regular peanut butter and get your protein fix with our delicious peanut butter powder.
  2. Many recipes call for peanuts to be added for flavor – peanut butter powder allows you to do this, while choosing the source of fat you wish to use in cooking – in my case I believe in using either butter or coconut oil as the science supports the benefits of these oils. Indian cooking, some of the healthiest in the world, incorporates powdered peanut butter into many recipes.
  3. One of the most obvious health benefits of powdered peanut butter is that the lipid portion has been reduced – this decreases the calories in the food.
  4. A less visible health benefit of powdered peanut butter is that by removing the fat portion, the fiber content remains and increases proportionately. Fiber of this type helps ensure the health of your gastro-intestinal tract.
  5. Peanuts are a rich source of arginine – powdered peanut butter is an even richer source of arginine. Arginine enriched diets have been shown to improve erectile function and by association, probably have a health enhancing effect. A peanut is literally a nut that helps you….
  6. A high protein diet allows for certain benefits for diabetic people. PB2's low glycemic index means it won't send your blood sugar levels on a rollercoaster. This makes it a smart choice for managing their blood sugar levels.
  7. Another one of the health benefits of powdered peanut butter is its effect on your budget – financial stress is a major cause of global health issues at the moment. Powdered peanut butter is concentrated which means you get more protein and nutrients per serving, stretching your wallet further.
  8. Powdered Peanut Butter is great for gluten free cooking! I have been gluten free since 1984, and I wish I had had this when I was a growing kid! Gluten free flour options are often low protein, and having powdered peanut butter flour would have helped me gain muscle like my “normal” friends.

Powdered Peanut Butter vs Regular Peanut Butter

After looking at these health benefits of powdered peanut butter it is important to remember that fats, although they contain calories, are an essential part of the human diet. Fats make up the membrane of every cell in the body, provide insulation to your nerves and are essential for brain and body function. Fats form the foundation of our hormone and immune systems. If we starve ourselves of fats and only eat protein we can actually die – this is called rabbit starvation.

When developing a specialized diet it is always important to remember to include your essential fatzty acids as a supplement and to consult a dietician for final advice. Some of the types of damage we can do to ourselves when embarking on spur of the moment diet ideas gleaned from influencers on the internet can in fact be harmful. Always consult a professional before you conduct an experiment on yourself – there is only one copy of you, so if you make a mistake with the experiment….
